13 New Marys: Our Novices Receive their New Names

On November 21st, the Feast of the Presentation of Mary, 13 novices from our province were given their new religious names. By these new names, advocations of the Blessed Virgin Mary, they become “New Marys.”  These names are a sign of the religious consecration of whom Mary is the prototype: “Among all persons consecrated unreservedly to God, she is the first. Contemplative Postulants Receive the Cross of Matará

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, our first two postulants in the newly founded Contemplative Novitiate in Brooklyn, New York received the Cross of Matará. Our congregation has a Contemplative branch of cloistered nuns as well as active missionary sisters.
