11 New Brides of Christ
On the Feast of All Saints, 11 Servidoras became new Brides of Christ, professing their first temporary vows of chastity, poverty, obedience and Marian slavery.
By these vows, they commit themselves to live:
“chaste, for the sake of the Kingdom of heaven,
poor, manifesting that God is the only true wealth for man,
and obedient, even to death on the cross,
in order to follow the Incarnate Word more intimately in His chastity,
poverty and obedience…
and in order to do it better… a fourth vow of consecration to Mary in maternal slavery of love” (Formula for the Profession of Vows).
The Solemn Mass was celebrated by Fr. Alberto Baraterro, IVE in the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. In addition to the profession of first vows, 16 temporally professed sisters, renewed their vows.
In attendance were many family and friends of the newly professed and many members of our religious family. The climate of joy was a great testimony to the joy that God grants to those souls who surrender themselves completely to Him.
We ask you to keep all our religious in your prayers, especially these new Spouses of Christ that they may “be like another humanity of Christ” (Formula for the Profession of Vows).
Our Lady of Lujan, pray for us!
