Saint Joseph, Patron and Protector

34th Anniversary of the Servidoras

March 19, Solemnity of St. Joseph, marks 34 years since the foundation of our congregation of the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará.

This day is kept with great solemnity and festivity by our sisters in every country and every mission.

Sisters in Washington DC for the celebration of St. Joseph

Yesterday, 23 sisters around the world professed their perpetual vows: in Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Italy, Ecuador and Russia. In addition, 22 sisters celebrated their 25th anniversary of religious profession.

St. Joseph, Defender of Holy Church

In a particular way, we ask through the intercession of St. Joseph for peace in Ukraine and Russia and for all those affected by the war.

We turn to St. Joseph, as head and defender of the Holy Family, in difficulties and dangers, asking for his special intercession as foster-father of Jesus.  In the words of St. John Paul II, St. Joseph’s “patronage must be invoked as ever necessary for the Church, not only as a defense against all dangers, but also…for her renewed commitment to evangelization in the world and to re-evangelization in those lands and nations where religion and the Christian life were formerly flourishing and…are now put to a hard test” (Redemptoris Custos, 29).

We also ask him to protect our missionaries everywhere, but especially those who are in Ukraine and Russia.

St. Joseph, pray for us!
