Spouses according to His Heart

We desire “to give Spouses to Jesus Christ according to His Heart"

In the past few weeks, six sisters who are from our province professed their final vows in various places.

We pray that by the grace of God, they will be Spouses who are conformed to the Heart of Christ, the Divine Bridegroom.

Referring to the profession and the living of religious vows, our Constitutions say:

The religious life, through which we surrender ourselves totally to the service of God, the source of perfection, consists mainly in the fulfilling of three vows: poverty, chastity and obedience, driven by charity… it is the most perfect expression [of the baptismal consecration], for the person who thus surrenders himself to God fulfills the baptismal demands to their maximum perfection: “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death” (Rom. 6:4)…

By virtue of the vows, the religious offers herself and all that is hers to God, without keeping anything back: through the vow of chastity, she offers the goods of her body; through the vow of poverty, external things; and through the vow of obedience, the goods of her soul (48-51).

Of these six sisters who made their perpetual profession, four are currently assigned to other countries but traveled back to the US or to Mexico in order to profess their vows in their homeland and in the presence of their families.

First Profession of Vows in the Monastery

Also on September 15, the first vocations of our contemplative novitiate professed their first temporal vows:

Sister Maria Mulier Eucharistica (Latin: Mary Eucharistic Woman)

Sister Mariya Karuna Kanya (Hindi: Mary Daughter of Mercy).

Contemplative novices make their first profession of vows.

We ask for your prayers for these sisters.

May the love and grace of the Most Holy Trinity help them to be faithful in the work that has already begun.
