We are already in the second week of Ordinary Time and approaching the end of January…
With the March for Life in DC around the corner (it’s tomorrow!) and Lent around the next corner, we’d like to share a few remembrances of the recent Christmas holidays and celebrations with you – before “last year” seems too far away!
For Catholics, Christmas and Easter are the most important liturgical celebrations of the year. In our various missions and convents, we try to keep the solemnity, joy and festivity of these days as much as possible.
Our Constitutions show us that there are three lessons a member of our religious family must take from the celebration of Christmas: “the birth of the Incarnate Word urges us to strictly live holy poverty since whoever has God is extremely rich. It also urges us to live in joy – a fruit of the Holy Spirit and a consequence of the Incarnation… [and] to work in the most difficult places – those where no one wants to go…” (Directory of Spirituality, 85-86).
Below you will find photos of some of our various missions in our province (Province of the Immaculate Conception) and how they celebrated the holidays.
May all the souls entrusted to our care, experience the true joy of heart that is the fruit of the Incarnation of Christ in every season.
