As we wear the Cross of Matar\u00e1 as part of our habit, this day is the proper and principal feast of our Institute.<\/p><p>This year on the Feast of the Holy Cross, eight sisters of the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matar\u00e1 professed their final vows in Washington, DC.\u00a0<\/p><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul><li>Sister Mary New Eve \u2013 missionary in Fairbanks, Alaska<\/li><li>Sister Mar\u00eda de la Gracia \u2013 missionary in New York<\/li><li>Sister Mar\u00eda Refugio de los Pecadores \u2013 missionary in Mankato, Minnesota<\/li><li>Sister Mary Cause of our Joy \u2013 missionary in St. James, Minnesota<\/li><li>Sister Maria Semper Virgo \u2013 missionary in Kazakhstan<\/li><li>Sister Mary of the Resurrection \u2013 missionary in the Netherlands<\/li><li>Sister Mary Mother of Merciful Love \u2013 missionary in Ireland<\/li><li>Sister Mary Queen of the Rosary \u2013 missionary in Italy<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p>These sisters publicly vowed to live chastity, poverty, obedience and Marian slavery forever, in order \u201cto be a \u2018tangible seal that the Trinity impresses upon history, so that people can sense with longing the attraction of divine beauty,\u2019 so that [their lives] may be a \u2018living memorial of Jesus\u2019 way of living and acting as the Incarnate Word in relation to the Father and in relation to mankind\u2019 \u201d (<em>Formula for Perpetual Profession<\/em>)<em>.<\/em><\/p><p>This is a great joy for our small religious family and also for the entire Church, as these women consecrate themselves completely to Jesus Christ and to the spread of His Kingdom.<\/p><p>On this day, M. Corredentora, our general superior exhorted all sisters united under the Cross of Matar\u00e1:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-426d73a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"426d73a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We must not forget that the love and knowledge of the Cross is a grace for which we must insistently ask Jesus, convinced that it is the greatest grace to reach the perfection of our vocation. \u201cWe must vehemently desire the cross: \u2018that I may die for love of your love, since for love of my love you deigned to die.\u2019 It is a grace to ask for in prayer: \u2018<em>God has given you the grace&#8230; to suffer for Christ\u2019<\/em> (Phil 1:29). In a special way we must ask for the grace of the knowledge of the cross and the joy of the cross, which can only be obtained in the school of Jesus Christ\u201d (<em>Directory of Spirituality<\/em>, 136).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a2f42b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a2f42b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>May these newly professed sisters, Spouses of Jesus Christ, commit themselves to this great task of obtaining a greater knowledge and joy of the Cross of Jesus Christ.<\/p><p>Please pray for them!<\/p><p>Mary, Virgin of Matar\u00e1, <em>pray for us!<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
