This July we have various opportunities for those who are discerning a call to the religious life, and more specifically, to our religious Institute. Taking time to visit a religious congregation in order to “Come and See” how their spirituality and charism is lived out in daily and communal life can be a helpful step in discernment.\u00a0 Below are listed some events for getting to know our community better and for seeking God’s will, including Come and See retreats and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Contemplative Come & See: July 18-20, 2021 | Brooklyn, NY<\/h4>

This is an in-person<\/strong> Come and See Discernment Retreat<\/em> at our Contemplative House of Prayer in Brooklyn, NY<\/strong> (St. Edith Stein Contemplative Community). This is for women who would like to know more about living the contemplative vocation as a Servidora<\/em>.<\/a> The weekend will include talks on our charism, history, contemplative life, our Marian spirituality and our active missionary branch, as well as prayer and recreation with the sisters. Each day\u2019s schedule includes praying the various hours of the Divine Office in community, Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Mass, and opportunities for Confessions and consultation.<\/p>

Active Come & See: July 18-20, 2021 | Washington, DC<\/h4>

This retreat is for young women (18-35) who are interested in learning more about the religious vocation as active missionaries within our Religious Family of the Incarnate Word.\u00a0 The weekend will include talks on our charism, history, missionary life, our Marian spirituality and our contemplative branch, as well as meals and recreation with the sisters. Each day\u2019s schedule includes time for prayer, Holy Mass, and opportunities for Confessions and consultation.<\/p>

Spiritual Exercises: July 20-23, 2021 | Washington DC<\/h4>\n

The Spiritual Exercises are a silent retreat developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola to help refocus one’s life on what is most important (the glory and service of God) and to provide an opportunity to hear God speaking in the silence of one’s heart. <\/p>\n

St. John Paul II spoke of the Spiritual Exercises saying that \u201cthe Christian is aided by the strong dynamism of the Exercises to enter into the ambit of the thoughts of God, of His plans in order to trust in Him, who is Truth and Love, and thus to make decisions committed to the following of Christ, considering clearly his gifts and his own responsibilities.\u201d<\/p>
