Jn 19: 26-27<\/strong>: When Jesus saw his mother\u00a0and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, \u201cWoman, behold, your son.\u201d Then he said to the disciple, \u201cBehold, your mother.\u201d And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.<\/em><\/p>

From the moment when Mary stood beneath her Son\u2019s Cross, we have been entrusted to her care in a particular way. (Cf. Catechism of Catholic Church, 964, 969<\/a>)<\/p>

In a General Audience (September 24, 1997), St. John Paul II said, regarding Mary\u2019s special concern for us:<\/p>

\u201cAs a mother, she defends her children and protects them from the harm caused by their own sins. Christians call upon Mary as \u2018Helper\u2019, recognizing her motherly love which sees her children\u2019s needs and is ready to come to their aid, especially when their eternal salvation is at stake. The conviction that Mary is close to those who are suffering or in situations of serious danger has prompted the faithful to invoke her as \u2018Benefactress\u2019. The same trusting certainty is expressed in the most ancient Marian prayer with the words: \u2018We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin\u2019 (from the\u00a0Roman Breviary<\/em>). As maternal Mediatrix, Mary presents our desires and petitions to Christ, and transmits the divine gifts to us, interceding continually on our behalf.\u201d<\/p>

This year marks the 10th<\/sup> anniversary of the shedding of tears of the Virgin of the Mount, in Anjara (Jordan).<\/p>

On May 6, 2010 the Blessed Virgin of the Mount of Anjara shed tears of blood in front of a religious sister. Her tears, visible on the statue, were seen by many people; medical analysis of the blood concluded that it is human blood. The investigation of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem declared that there is no natural explanation for this incident.<\/p>

The pain of her children causes suffering in the heart of a mother. This Mother holds us in her most compassionate Heart we can turn to her in confidence for all our needs.<\/p>
