Natural Family Planning Workshop in Guyana

March 27, 2010

We were so blessed to be able to organize the first Natural Family Planning Workshop for married couples in Charity, Guyana on March 27, 2010.  The day’s talks were given by lay missionaries from the Southern Maryland: Jeanette, a licensed clinical social worker, and her husband Tom.

Sessions ran all day from 9:00 in the morning to 3:15 PM and included topics such as “The Risks of Artificial Contraception,” and “The Health Benefits of Natural Family Planning.”  Thirty couples from the Essequibo Coast, Pomeroon River, and Georgetown participated in this historic event.  The day ended with Holy Mass in thanksgiving for all the graces received.

Our hope is that this workshop may be the beginning of a great new apostolate to married couples in our area.  We are so thankful for the help of God and for the generosity shown by Jeanette and Tom in coming to Charity to give this workshop. We pray for the many couples who have been enlightened about the possibility of changing the way they live their lives.
