The Jubilee Year of Mercy closes on the Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday November 20, 2016.

Of course, this does not close the door on God’s mercy!  But it does mark the end of a special time in the Church when Pope Francis has invited the faithful to draw close to the sources of mercy: namely, confession and the special indulgences of the Holy Doors.

During these days of global anxiety and national concern, we have the opportunity to place ourselves and our country into God’s Mercy especially over these next thirty-five days.  By sharing short videos by two of our IVE priests at Our Lady of Peace we renew the invitation to make recourse to mercy.  Jesus, I trust in You!

Have you been through the Holy Doors in your diocese?
Fr. Jonathan Dumlao, IVE explains what the Holy Doors are all about and how to gain a plenary indulgence.

Have you come face to face with places in your life in need of God’s healing mercy?  Have you made a good confession and entered into His Mercy in a new way?
Fr. Thomas Steinke, IVE discusses the power and forgiveness that confession can bring especially to those suffering from addictions, a problem becoming more and more common.

The call of the Pope has been a powerful source for reflections here on the website over this past year:

Let us all live well these last days of the Jubilee of Mercy and bring with us the graces of being “merciful like the Father” into our whole lives moving into the future.
