The Ignatian Spiritual Exercises will be offered for young adult men and women (18-35) at our retreat center in the Catskill Mountains (Upstate New York) Friday, June 3 to Sunday June 5, 2016.

This classic silent retreat is a walk through the mysteries of the Christian faith as applied to our real life situations and the decisions we face.  The text of St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, calls upon the exercitant “to consider where I am going and for what purpose” (Spiritual Exercises, no. 239).

the-road-aheadWhether looking at taking a new job, deciding on one’s path of studies, praying about a relationship, or discerning a vocation, the Exercises give each one a chance to stop, pray, listen, and seek God’s will.

The first weekend of June this year overlaps with the days when the whole Church honors the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Friday, June 3) and the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Saturday, June 4).

Fac cor meum secundum cor Tuum. (“Make my heart like unto Thine.”)  Consider the Exercises as an invitation to draw close to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary in silence, in the sacraments, and in time set aside for prayer.
