As they enter in the deeper silence of Advent, our contemplative sisters at the Precious Blood Monastery in New York have a number of projects to share in anticipation of the coming of the Christ Child.
Christmas Novena Cards 2015
As in past years, the sisters have cards available for the enrollment of your loved one in their Christmas novena. Click here for more information and how to order.
A new edition has been prepared of the original history of the Monastery of the Precious Blood composed by Msgr. Joseph Stedman, the saintly and ever faithful chaplain for the sisters during the 1940’s and 1950’s. This new edition has color photographs accompanying the text. Suggested donations support the Monastery Fund and Retreat Center. Learn more about how to order a copy for yourself or a friend.
Our contemplative sisters are also committed to receiving prayer intentions through an on-line initiative of the Diocese of Brooklyn called “Pray for Me”: An On-Line Prayer Community. You may now submit prayer requests to the sisters through this platform as well.
Their apostolate is that of prayer, their service to the Church and to the world is the “sacrifice of praise” offered throughout the day both during the sung Liturgy of the Hours as well as through the sacrifice of their hidden lives given to the Lord alone.
Blessings on your own Advent journey of prayer, preparation, and great expectation for the coming of Christ.
