On Saturday May 30th, our Religious Family celebrated with great joy the ordination of four new priests of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE), Fr. Juan Pablo Palacio, IVE, Fr. Nathaniel Dryer, IVE, Fr. Fernando Flores, IVE and Fr. William Duraney, IVE (Fr. Nicholas Cabrera, a fifth priest of their group, had been ordained May 16th in California at Our Lady of Peace Shrine, photo above), as well as four new transitional deacons.  They received the ordination at the hands of His Eminence Theodore Cardinal McCarrick at the National Shrine of the Immacualte Conception in Washington, DC.  These new young priests join the Ordination Class of 2015 throughout the US, a group which has an interesting profile drawn from studies of the USCCB.  Below: Short video in honor of the occasion made by IVE seminarians from footage of the 2014 ordination.

The whole Church is involved in both receiving the gift of more priests who bring forth the sacraments in time, but also in praying for our priests who stand before God on behalf of the people and in persona Christi (in the person of Christ).  The Vatican Congregation for Clergy website offers prayers, reflections and news about how all the faithful can share in supporting our priests.

Let us pray for our priests, especially these new missonaries!
Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd, pray for us!
