If you have some open time this summer and a desire to give of yourself in service to Christ and His Church, applications are still being accepted for placements of lay missionaries for summer 2015. According to your schedule, interests and talents, you may apply to serve as a lay missionary on your own, with a friend or sibling, or by joining an existing scheduled group.
After an initial interview process and apostolic visit, a coordinator works with those accepted to the program to place them in corresponding missions in need of assistance. Lay missionary volunteers are required (1) to cover the cost of transportation to the mission site, (2) to have travel insurance, and (3) to obtain any necessary vaccines and visas.
Once on-site, volunteers live and serve alongside the community of sisters present in the mission and are provided room and board. To inquire about mission possibilities or to begin the application process please e-mail us at email@example.com.
