Open-house

On Sunday, February 8th convents across the country are opening their doors to visitors as part of the “Day with Religious” initiative for the Year of Consecrated Life.  Neighbors and parishioners are invited to visit the convents open in their diocese as a way to learn more about religious life and to share time with local religious men and women.  This initiative is a local response to Pope Francis’ call for the Year of Consecrated Life, closely tied to the World Days of Consecrated Life just celebrated yesterday on February 2, the Presentation in the Temple (see 2015 homily).

This is a great event for families, youth groups, and involved Catholics–even for just curious folks!  According to the intentions of Pope Francis, may the Year of Consecrate Life be a fruitful time of gratitude, of renewal and of hope for all consecrated people and the lay faithful alike.
