While much of the US has been experiencing mid-February snowstorms, it seemed fitting to share the January posting on S.O.S. Christians in Syria from our missionaries in Aleppo during a rare Middle Eastern snowstorm. They describe the momentary silence and “forgetfulness” of war that the snow brought. Read the post “Even the most difficult needs that these people face do not make them give up!!” (January 16, 2014)
Additionally, the missionaries posted a summary of the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations of the Christian community in Aleppo Thank you! You have made us feel that we are at Christmas! (January 27, 2014). The passing details they share create a sketch of what life in a war zone must be like.
Please do not forget to pray for peace, and to remember all people caught up in this conflict, especially the “members of the household of faith” (Gal. 6:10), our fellow Christians and the missionary priests and sisters of our Religious Family.
