As part of the Year of Faith and the month of the Rosary, special Marian events are taking place around the world October 12 – 13.
On Saturday, October 12th the Holy Father will lead the Church in a special day of Marian prayer. In the afternoon Pope Francis will pray a Rosary from the Shrine of Divino Amore outside of Rome (17:00) which will be joined by pilgrims in 9 Marian shrines around the world including the Shrine of Our Lady of Aparacida in Brazil, the Shrine of Our Lady of Lujan in Argentina, and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC (1:00pm EST) (click here for details of the local event). Let us unite ourselves in praying the Rosary with Pope Francis and the faithful around the world.
On Sunday, October 13th Pope Francis will celebrate a special Marian Mass at St. Peter’s Square in which he will join past popes (including Bl. John Paul II in 1984) in consecrating the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. May Our Lady of Fatima intercede for the peace of the world, fulfilling her words at Fatima on July 13, 1917: “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
