On May 8th our Religious Family was united all around the world to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary under her special advocation: Our Lady of Luján. She is the Patroness of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word and a special mother of our vocations. Her shrine in Argentina is always filled with pilgrims on this day, and throughout the country the faithful gather to ask for her protection and blessings. This year in particular we ask her to bless her dear son, Pope Francis, the first Argentine pope! Click here to see a short video about Our Lady of Luján (3:41).
Perpetual Profession of IVE Brothers
In this province, we rejoiced to see the perpetual profession of nine of our IVE brothers during a Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.
They pronounced forever their vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and Marian slavery of love. We pray that their lives may be ever more conformed to the life of Jesus Christ who is the Poor One, the Chaste One, and the Obedient One.
Marian Consecration of Novices
On this day, novices of both the IVE and SSVM also made their Marian Consecration according to the method of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort. They have entrusted themselves to Mary in filial slavery of love as a way of better preparing themselves for their first profession of religious vows in the future. At the time of profession, they will renew this consecration in the form of our Fourth Marian Vow, an integral part of our religious vows. May Our Lady of Luján bless and protect these men and women as they begin the journey of consecrated life in the Church. We also ask her to grant us the gift of many holy missionary vocations.
