“Benedictum Verbum Incarnatum, Principium et Finis, Alpha et Omega, Primum et Postremum”
With great joy and thanksgiving the Religious Family of the Institute of the Incarnate Word celebrated our central feast day, the Solemnity of the Annunication, in Washington D.C. This year the solemnity also marks the 27th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute in San Rafael, Argentina.
Priests and sisters of the province gathered together Thursday evening to begin celebrating the feast with Adoration, sung Vespers, dinner and Matins. On Friday we had the great honor and pleasure of having His Eminence Cardinal Donald Wuerl as the main celebrant of the Mass of the Annunciation which was celebrated at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Parishioners from many of the IVE parishes in the province traveled to Washington for the feast thus giving the eventful day a true sense of family and unity. The day ended with a dinner reception and some songs performed by our sisters, priests and seminarians.
May Mary Mother of the Incarnate Word intercede for us as we ask for the grace of fidelity to our founding charism.
