IVE priests preached one-day retreats for the adult members of the three language communities in our parish: Spanish, English and Italian. We sisters also held advent retreats for First Communion children and Confirmation youth.
Works of Mercy
The Kateri Tekakwitha Girls Group participated in a “work of mercy event” as a way of preparing for the coming of Our Lord. They went to a nursing home, performed a Christmas play and sang carols. This activity was very enriching for their spiritual growth.The Maranatha Youth Group went to visit the elderly as well.
“Golden Age” Group for Elderly of the Parish
The “Golden Age” group also participated in the preparation for the Birth of Jesus. This is a parish group we organize and founded as a way to care for the elderly members of our parish by providing activities and support. They meet once a week in our John Paul the Great Family Centre for music, dance, prayer, fitness class, arts and crafts, games, and more! This advent they decorated their own advent wreathes and they sewed Christmas decorations as well.
Marian Consecration:Totus Tuus, Maria
On December 8, Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a group of parishioners consecrated thenselves to Mary according to the method of St. Louis de Monfort.
Vocations from the Parish: Two Religious Sisters from the Same Family
On the same day we had two special visitors: Sister Maryja Krolowa Polski (missionary in Iceland) and Sister Maryja Wspomozycielka (Juniorate sister in Washington), vocations from our mission in Toronto. In the picture they are seen together with their proud parents who are active Third Order members.
